Akandana Parking

One of Japan’s most picturesque mountain areas – Kamikochi

Akandana Parking

Kamikochi is part of Chubu Sangaku National Park, proudly having the two designations of “special place of scenic beauty” and “special natural treasure.” It is one of Japan’s most picturesque mountain areas, with 1.2 million visitors annually.

Akandana Parking is the starting point from Gifu Prefecture to Kamikochi. Due to year-round restricted private vehicle access, visitors are required to transfer into a shuttle bus or taxi at the Akandana Parking station. A shuttle bus takes you to Kamikochi via the Hirayu Bus Terminal, and requires approximately 35 minutes.

It may be a good idea to walk along the promenade from the parking to explore the town around Hirayu Onsen. You can fully enjoy the local cuisine, such as Hida beef and Takayama ramen noodles, as well as hot springs touring the day spas and footbaths.
