Shinhotaka no Yu

Open-air bath with a superb view

Shinhotaka no Yu

Shinhotaka no Yu is an open-air bath that lies on the banks of the Gamada River, allowing you to enjoy nature and a magnificent mountain view. The open-air bath is a mixed bathing area where men and women of all ages can bathe together in swimsuits, and can even be seen from the bridge.
As the baths are located along the river, the river water occasionally rises and causes sand to flow into the baths along with it. That being said, the local residents have always been working together to maintain and keep the baths clean.
It is a popular spot to enjoy greenery in summer and colorful foliage in autumn. In autumn, the leaves are illuminated and the baths are open at night.
