Higaku-no-Yu & Climber’s Cafeteria
Day-trip hot spring facility ideal for post-mountain climbing
Higaku-no-Yu is a day-trip bathing facility in Shinhotaka Onsen.
It is a popular place for visitors and climbers to relax, with a restaurant and a rest area to take a nap.
Colorless natural hot spring water flows from two private hot spring sources at a temperature of at least 68℃ to three open-air baths: the men’s bath, women’s bath, and climbers’ bath (men only).
From the baths, you can see the magnificent vertical rock face of Mt. Shakujo and feel the nature and seasons of Okuhida in all their glory.
At the restaurant, you can try Hida beef dishes, local specialties such as Hoba miso (miso grilled on a magnolia leaf), or a choice of set meals. The restaurant is open until late, so stop by on your way home from a day of mountain climbing or sightseeing.
